This is my moms own handwriting of a recipe that she loved!! She made this numerous times for us at our numerous large gatherings or when she was having a 'hankerin' for chocolate'. She was a true all-american original who got all her recipes & ideas from Family Circle Magazine or Better Homes & Gardens. *Notice she used 'oleo' in this recipe.....that ain't allowed in my kitchen so I will adjust accordingly. She was quiet, but always a loving & generous person. I learned so much from her & miss her daily! I know she would be happy to know we made her sheet cake & shared it with others. Here's to Fern!!
